The miniUPS-25-1-CA1 is a compact backup power supply module designed to maintain the operation of PoE devices, in particular IP cameras. Automatic and immediate switchover to battery power prevents the camera from switching off, thereby minimising the risk of image loss and interruptions to recording. When used in conjunction with a camera fitted with a memory card, the miniUPS enables local video recording to continue even in the event of a power failure or loss of connection to the main recorder.The miniUPS-25-1-CA1 is installed between the PoE switch and the load. The pass-through port design ensures that the device does not interfere with autonegotiation between the PoE switch and the load. This allows the agreed PoE standard, e.g. 802.3af or 802.3at, to be maintained. The module automatically detects a loss of input power and switches to battery operation. If it detects neither input power nor a load on the output, it will automatically switch off, thereby minimising unnecessary battery drain.The START button allows the PoE output to be activated without an input power supply being connected. This means that the miniUPS-25-1-CA1 can be used as a portable power source during the configuration and commissioning of IP cameras, without the need for a PoE switch.The built-in 24 Wh battery consists of two 18650 LiFePO4 cells, making them easy to replace. The device’s operating status is indicated by a red LED. A steady light indicates that power is being supplied to the input, whilst a flashing light indicates that the device is running on battery power.The module is housed in an ABOX-CA1 enclosure with an IP68 protection rating, designed to protect electronic equipment and cable connections in demanding outdoor conditions. The enclosure, measuring 165 × 65 × 55 mm, is fitted with an M25 cable gland with two 6 mm diameter holes, allowing cables to be fed through whilst maintaining a watertight seal. The ABOX-CA1 can be mounted on a wall or a pole using the optional ADD-PMACA1 adapter.The miniUPS-25-1-CA1 is primarily recommended for powering a single PoE IP camera. It is also possible to connect a larger number of devices via extenders; however, dividing the battery power amongst several devices will reduce the runtime. Due to the pass-through design of the ports, the unit can supply the load with power in accordance with the PoE standard used. It is recommended to use the miniUPS-25-1-CA1 with loads operating under the 802.3af/at standards.
